Political thriller - Nazi & communist cold war intriguenana4u 08/09/2009
Col Van Dyke (Peck) is stuck with a spy thriller at the communist border in Berlin. Following Nazi Germany; cold war politics have divided Berlin into pieces of a police puzzle. The characters have mysterious past histories; and the plot twists maintain a suspenceful film noir. The story keeps pace with the viewer's interest until the disclosure of loyalties is finally finished. Good yarn well worth the trip.

No Orchids for Miss Blandish   1948     2 stars    N/R, 85 min.
Genre: Drama
Director: St. John Legh Clowes
Cast: Jack La Rue, Linden Travers, Walter Crisham, Leslie Bradley, Hugh McDermott, Zoe Gail, Charles Goldner, MacDonald Parke, Percy Marmont, Lily Molnar

James Hadley Chase's bestseller comes to the screen with this movie, which was panned nearly as much as his book due to the sadistic, violent nature of the story. For the 1940s, there is an extreme amount of violence as an heiress is captured for ransom and ends up in the grips of a degenerate family. Remade in 1971 as "The Grissom Gang."
