Still One of My Favorite Horror Flick's!Debrinconcita 08/25/2009
The doctor and his wife were in some kind of accident, where they got burned up. His wife died afterward's and he blame's the doctor in charge at the hospital, and all the staff for her death. When he finally get's well enough after the accident, he stalks all of them and makes them die, because she died. He does give them chance's to save themselves. It has a very interesting story line. One of Vincent Price's best movies, I thought anyway!

Ari achieves victory, and now 30,000 more Jews relocate into the Holy Land. Sal Mineo received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. One other nomination was received, and the film won an Oscar for Best Cinematography.    2 User Reviews

As already mentioned, the storyline is only loosely related to the book, but is a good story on its' own. This is a case where the depth and power of the book cannot be captured by a movie. Contrary to the usual order, I saw the movie and was moved to read the book which is one of the few in my category of read again.

Can I give it a minus 10?Anonymous 07/24/2011
No, this is NOT "Leon Uris's story." I like Paul Newman, but he is certainly not dark-haired, dark-eyed, and well over 6 feet tall. Nor is Sal Mineo anywhere close to being the pale-blond undersized Polish "sewer rat" from the book. To the flagrant casting miscues, add the fact that the book's Exodus was filled with Jewish refugee CHILDREN--Ben Canaan knew that would garner maximum levels of both sympathy and outrage from observers, while adult refugees would not come anywhere near that level of "do something" when the kids began fainting from their hunger strike and were laid on the deck--and it is an insult to Uris's work. Would have walked out, but I kept watching to see what other "rewriting" abominations would occur. I understand Uris hated the film, too.
