In this film version of George du Maurier's novel "Trilby," Donald Wolfit takes on the role of hypnotist Svengali who transforms young Trilby (Hildegarde Neff) into a famous singer. Trilby falls under Svengali's spell and has left starving artist Billy (Terence Morgan) behind. But, Billy is not willing to give up his love for Trilby and follows Svengali and Trilby all over the world.
