  Funding cutbacks have made matters worse at the VA hospital where Dr. Richard Sturgess (Ray Liotta) works. The red tape is awesome, and "Article 99" states that care can be given only if it can be shown that the problem is military-related. But Dr. Sturgess and his cohorts find ways of getting around this problem. This "M*A*S*H" wannabe isn't.

Meanwhile, problems develop between Max's son Jacob (Kevin Pollak) and John's daughter Melanie (Daryl Hannah) when their fathers keep interfering with their wedding plans. Yes, the outtakes during the closing credits are also in this film.

  After being raised by his womanizing father Professor Turner (Alec Baldwin), Tank (Dane Cook) has a different method of dealing with women. Dustin (Jason Biggs) is Tank's roommate, and he needs help with his relationship with Alexis (Kate Hudson) who "just wants to be friends." Dustin asks for Tank's help, and Tank offers to come to the rescue. But, on their date, Alexis calls Tank's bluff, and now Tank finds himself falling in love with his "Best Friend's Girl."

  Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are back in their popular roles of Felix Ungar and Oscar Madison. This time around, they head for San Malina, California, for the wedding of Felix's daughter Hanna (Lisa Waltz) and Oscar's son Brucey (Jonathan Silverman). Problem number one is their failing memories–they can't remember the name of the town to which they are driving. Other problems include getting sprayed by a crop duster, the car breaking down, and meeting Thelma (Christine Baranski) and Holly (Jean Smart) at a bar. But, despite all of the interruptions, they finally do arrive at the wedding.

Blane does ask her to the Senior Prom, but then his friends tease him about his choice for a date.
