In one story, Walter (Richard Todd) murders his wife, and she seeks revenge. Another story involves tailor Bruno (Barry Morse) weaving a coat to bring back his son from the dead. The third story is about schizophrenic Barbara (Charlotte Rampling) inserting her "doppelganger" into Lucy (Britt Ekland). The final story involves toymaker Bryon (Herbert Lom) and his killer robots. A good film for horror buffs.

Clouseau believes that Maria is innocent; however, Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbert Lom) is sure that she is guilty and is dismayed–once again–at Clouseau's handling of the case. The number of murder victims increases, but Clouseau is convinced that Marie is being framed and remains determined to prove her innocence.

But, the interference from Crassus and Gracchus does not deter Spartacus and the slaves from their march to freedom. Peter Ustinov won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, and Russell Metty won for Best Cinematography. Meanwhile, Napoleon has invaded Russia, and Pierre's friend Andrei (Mel Ferrer) is fighting in the war. Andrei returns home and falls in love with Natasha but returns to the battlefield and is critically wounded. Pierre witnesses the carnage and vows to kill Napoleon. The French are finally beaten, and, by story's end, Pierre is reunited with Natasha. King Vidor received an Oscar nomination for his directing.
