Poster Art From art.comCaddyshack   1980     2 and a half stars    R, 90 min.
Genre: Comedy
Director: Harold Ramis
Cast: Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Bill Murray, Michael O'Keefe, Sarah Holcomb, Scott Colomby, Cindy Morgan, Dan Resin, Henry Wilcoxon, Elaine Aiken, Albert Salmi, Ann Ryerson, Brian Doyle-Murray

Rodney Dangerfield plays a rich, obnoxious, land developer who joins a posh country club in hopes of buying it. Chevy Chase takes on the role of a golf champ/playboy who never keeps his score. Bill Murray plays the groundskeeper who fights a losing battle against gophers, and Ted Knight is great as the scatter-brained club president in this silly, but entertaining, film. Dangerfield steals the show.

This film walked away with the Academy Award for Best Picture. It contains all the glitter of the Big Top presented through a number of stories interwoven into the circus world. Other tales involve Charlton Heston and Betty Hutton, whose egos must be overcome to attain love. Look for Bing Crosby and Bob Hope as spectators in the grandstand. The film was also won an Academy Award for Best Writing and was nominated for three others, including Best Director.
