This exciting film introduced the French New Wave to theaters.

  Violette Noziere (Isabelle Huppert) is bored with her life but still finds thrills in Parisian cafes where she meets her lover Jean Dabin (Jean-Francois Garreaud). When Jean needs money, Violette devises a plot in which she can inherit money after she kills her parents, Baptiste and Germaine (Jean Carmet and Stephane Audran). Violette puts her plans into action, and Baptiste dies, but Germaine survives and sends Violette to prison. Based on a true story that took place in Paris during the 1930s.
