  This fantasy is set in a Portuguese convent called Arrabida. Michael Padovik (John Malkovich) arrives to search for evidence backing his theory that Shakespeare's plays were actually written by a Spaniard. Also at the convent are Padovik's wife, Helene (Catherine Deneuve), and four characters whose views of the search range from helpful to cynical.
