The Case of the Howling Dog 1934 N/R, 75 min. Genre: Mystery
Director: Alan Crosland Cast: Warren William, Mary Astor, Allen Jenkins, Grant Mitchell, Helen Trenholme, Helen Lowell, Dorothy Tree, Gordon Westcott, Harry Tyler, Arthur Aylesworth
This is the first film of Erle Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason, and the series continued for five more movies; Warren William stars as our hero defender in the first four. Unlike the sober entries starring Raymond Burr, these are light-hearted, if not as well written and acted. In this episode, Perry gets involved in a family feud that ends up in murder. He amazes all as he identifies the killer in the courtroom.

The Dragon Murder Case 1934 N/R, 68 min. Genre: Mystery
Director: H. Bruce Humberstone Cast: Warren William, Margaret Lindsay, Lyle Talbot, Eugene Pallette, Helen Lowell, Dorothy Tree, Robert McWade, Robert Barrat, George E. Stone, George Meeker, Etienne Girardot, Robert Warwick
Warren William takes over the role of sophisticated sleuth Philo Vance in this not-too-great entry. There are many suspects when deaths occur in the "dragon pool" at the wealthy Stamm residence. But Philo Vance is able to sort through the clues to find the culprit. William was concurrently playing Perry Mason in another series and would later star in the "Lone Wolf" series.

Director: Norman Taurog Cast: Eddie Cantor, Ethel Merman, Sally Eilers, William Frawley, Brian Donlevy, Jack La Rue, Harry Parke, Helen Lowell, Gordon Jones, Edward Brophy
This is a weak Eddie Cantor entry as he plays a mild-mannered tailor who becomes involved with the Mob when he takes on the job of manager of an amusement park.
