| | mich 03/16/2007 | | I think Emilio Estevez had made a powerful film. I hope some day it goes down as one of the greats of American independent filmmaking- which always has different values from the mega-budget "blockbusters", so it needs to be judged on its own terms. In a way, it reminded me of Garden State-simple, elegant and slightly under-drawn figures -just as we all are .I think Estevez captured that characteristic mundanity and chaotic inner-life of the subjects very well. Forget about looking for obvious thematic links between RFK and the disparate characters. It didnt need to be obvious, because at a subconscious level, there was a sense of tension slowly building out of the ordinary grist of daily life- and isnt that just how cataclysmic moments are formed? The ending was so incredibly moving- it was tinged with sentimentality and nostalgia for a lost moment but not at all mawkish, and it was just so sad. Estevez is agreat film maker when he really cares about his subject. |

| | This was great | Kenny 10/01/2009 | | I loved this movie. I am a country boy that knows how it is to be in a big city. I am from the area that he was suppose to be from and that is how we are here. We can pick on each other but if some one else does we come together and we take care of them. As a matter of fact yes almost all of us good old boys carry guns. Most know how to shoot bows and a few do know how to throw knives and axes. We was raised that we take care of each other and take care of our own problems. We don't care about the police because most of them don't know there but from a hole in the ground. I think he played a great country boy and the movie had all in it that it needed. |
| | You forgot one movie | 09/18/2009 | | Next of Kin is also one my favorites. It really does show how close country families really are. By the way there is one movie some one forgot to post. Return of the Rebels with Patrick, Barbara Eden, Jamie Farr and other great stars. Patrick and his gang go up against an older generation of bikers. Guess who wins. |

Director: Charles Band Cast: Tim Thomerson, Helen Hunt, Megan Ward, Biff Manard, Martine Beswick, Jeffrey Combs, Alyson Croft, Telma Hopkins, Art LaFleur, Barbara Crampton
OK–the original, though cheap, was fun. But this one can't get away with the low production values (as they say) without comment. Jack (Tim Thomerson) got stuck in the past (now, 1991) after dealing with the Trancer problem in 1985. He is married to Lena (Helen Hunt) and another Trancer threat emerges, led by Whistler's (from the original) brother. To help Jack out, the 23rd-century council sends his wife back from the future. And you think he had problems before.

It is determined that this strain can be traced back to 2005, so off he goes. Along with an escapee from the Trancer training program (Melanie Smith), he sets about saving the world (again). Two more of these sequels to go.
