  This is the true story of a singing group that formed during 1927 in Berlin, Germany. The "Comedian Harmonists" gained fame and immense popularity that lasted until the Nazi regime learned that three of its members were Jewish and prohibited performances by the group.

  Set in 1950s West Germany, this film is based on the famous unsolved murder of "high-class" prostitute Rosemarie Nitribitt (Nina Hoss). She had a clientele of rich men, and lived with one. The downfall started when a wealthy Frenchmen, Fribert (Mathieu Carriere), came to town with a deal for her: tape her encounters with the rich and famous clients and then, for a price, turn them over to Fribert for use in blackmail schemes.
