Set late in World War II, this is the story of Bridie Quiltie (Deborah Kerr), a young Irish woman who grew up to despise the British. She meets Miller (Raymond Huntley), a Nazi spy who claims to be an IRA member, and he enlists her aid in his spy activities. Meanwhile, English intelligence agent David Bayne (Trevor Howard), who has fallen in love with Bridie, is hot on the trail of Miller. Adventures follow in this well-acted film.
