All the while, Alfie engages in sexual affairs with others, including wealthy Ruby (Shelley Winters) and young Siddie (Millicent Martin). Even though disillusioned at the end of the film, Alfie is still "flitting." Academy Award nominations were received for Best Picture, Actor, Supporting Actress (Merchant), Writing, and Song.

The resort is a huge success, but local citizens object to Ambrose's arcade games on the pier and attempt to destroy it. Fortunately for Ambrose, when his sailor friends come to his aid, a slapstick battle ensues, and Ambrose registers the pier as a cruise ship under a foreign flag. Now, his "ship" is no longer under the domain of land authorities, and the fun continues.

He tries it on his insane daughter, but it has quite the opposite affect. Emmanuel's brother, James (Christopher Lee), steals the skeleton, rain falls on the bones, and an evil being terrorizes the area. A good period piece with two great masters of the genre.
