Childhood friends–Bobby (Erik Smith) and Jonathan (Harris Allen)–grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Now the adult Bobby (Colin Farrell) and Jonathan (Dallas Roberts) reunite in NYC where they share an East Village apartment with Clare (Robin Wright Penn). An unusual triangle forms: openly gay Jonathan wants to resume sexual experiments with Bobby, but Bobby and Clare become lovers, and now Clare is pregnant. Despite all, they form a unique family unit.
