  In this sequel to "The Mummy's Hand," Lon Chaney Jr. makes his debut in the role of Kharis, the Mummy. Now, the Mummy is hiding in a Mapleton, Massachusetts, graveyard waiting for the first full moon in order to seek revenge against those who had desecrated Princess Ananka's tomb 30 years ago.

  Sir Percy Blakeney (Leslie Howard) comes to the aid of French aristocrats who Robespierre has imprisoned and sentenced to be executed at the guillotine during the French Revolution. Blakeney disguises himself and, unbeknownst to his wife Lady Marguerite (Merle Oberon), rescues innocent victims. He leaves behind him a small red pimpernel flower for which he is named. When Chauvelin (Raymond Massey) closes in on the case, he uses Marguerite as bait to capture Pimpernel.
