Alice (Mia Farrow) is an upscale Manhattan housewife who has been married for 16 years to Doug (William Hurt). She has lived a life with few problems, until events take a turn when she starts fantasizing about a stranger (Joe Mantegna) and considers an affair with him. Her Oriental herbalist, Dr. Yang (Keye Luke), gives Alice herbs that, among other things, make her invisible and cause men to fall for her. Alice plunges into her make-believe "Wonderland" but ultimately comes to terms with reality.

They encounter old folks from a retirement home who have discovered that the cocoons have incredible restorative powers. The "old folks" are terrific, especially Don Ameche who won an Oscar for his performance.

Now, the rejuvenated retirees return to Florida for a visit, and each couple must decide whether to stay or go back with the "friends." Not as good as the previous film, but entertaining.

One of the stories involves Harlem's Cotton Club coronet player Dixie Dwyer (Richard Gere) who saves the life of gangster Dutch Schultz (James Remar), and Dutch returns the favor by inviting Dixie into his life. After going through an uneasy romance with Dutch's girlfriend Vera Cicero (Diane Lane), Dixie moves on to Hollywood and stars in gangster films. Lots of big names add to the fun. 1 User Review
