Previously, Sainte Colombe had returned home and learned that his wife had died. He built a small home and planned to dedicate his life to his daughters and his music. The story is told in flashbacks as Marais recalls his past and his respect for his mentor.

As Leo motorcycles his way to Sweden, Paul also heads out to track down his father, still wanting to connect. Paul finds him at the site where Leo's motorcycle crashed with Leo injured. Leo insists he does not need to go to the hospital, but Paul is intent on reaching out to his father and ties him in the back seat to aid in the reconciliation process.
