| | An exquisite movie! | 10/18/2006 | | I saw the movie when it opened in Santa Barbara in 1983. I have been trying to find a copy, off and on ever since. The imagery, the reflections, the insight into North and South American cultures are extraordinary. |

Selena 1997 PG, 130 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Gregory Nava Cast: Jennifer Lopez, Edward James Olmos, Jon Seda, Constance Marie, Jacob Vargas, Lupe Ontiveros, Jackie Guerra, Richard Coca, Seidy Lopez, Alex Meneses
This is the story of Selena's (Jennifer Lopez) rise as a singer of Tejano music. Her untimely death (she was slain by a "fan" in 1995) interrupted her path to fame and fortune. The story is good, but it is the music that brought fans to the theater. 2 User Reviews
