Lulu (Melanie Griffith), a schizophrenic, leaves the mental hospital and shows up at her ex-boyfriend's, Ben (Patrick Swayze), home. She convinces him that they had a baby from their affair 17 years ago, and it is time to reunite with the son. Ben, unhappily married, agrees, and off they head to Wisconsin. But Ben's wife (Penelope Ann Miller) decides to head there too to see what's going on, including whether or not there is a son or just a rekindling of an affair. This comedy/drama is disappointing, especially considering the cast.
