Charlie Croker (Michael Caine), fresh out of prison, takes over the planning and execution of a gold heist after the murder of the original planner. The plan: cause a traffic jam, get the gold from the armored car, and take off. The problem: funding for the project. Croker turns to master crime boss Mr. Bridger (Noel Coward in his last role) who conducts business from his jail cell. With a motley team of cohorts, the deed is done, and the chase is on through the streets, highways, and Swiss Alps. A fun caper.
