Mr. Drake (Leon Errol) is bankrupt and has not paid his staff in months. Millie poses as Drake's debutante daughter to get the attention of Frank, and the fun begins. Songs include "I Couldn't Sleep a Wink Last Night" and "This is a Lovely Way to Spend an Evening."

The film received an Oscar nomination for Best Musical Score, and Ray Bolger's dancing certainly adds to the enjoyment.
