But all doesn't go as well as hoped, including being watched over by Propaganda Minister Goebbels (Johannes Silberschneider) who also makes a run on the film's star, Macarena (Penelope Cruz). A good film directed by Fernando Trueba who also Directed the Academy Award-winning "Belle Epoque."

  Set during the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, Dani (Fernando Tielve) is the primary character as he narrates events in this drama. Capt. Blay (Fernando Fernan Gomez) encourages Dani to draw a portrait of young Susana (Aida Folch) who is recovering from tuberculosis. The story unfolds as events from Susana's father's (Eduard Fernandez) life come to the fore when she tells about her father's activities as a spy. By story's end, Dani and Susana are on the verge of a romance with each other.

Bond teams up with Chinese External Security Force agent Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) to bring an end to Carver's madness. Carver is married to Paris (Teri Hatcher) who just happens to be one of Bond's former lovers, and his superior, M (Judi Dench), ensures that the past relationship is exploited as Bond and Wai Lin go after the ruthless Carver.
