But tragedy strikes. Sean Young is good in this otherwise weak effort.

This is a delightful Tim Burton film that uses stop-action and replacement animation. Halloweentown's hero, Jack Skellington (voice of Chris Sarandon, singing voice of Danny Elfman), takes a walk in the woods and enters a tree that is the doorway to Christmastown. Jack is overwhelmed with the good will he finds and now wants to take over Christmas by kidnapping Santa (voice of Edward Ivory) and do Christmas as only Halloweentown can. They capture Santa, but boogeyman Oogie Boogie (voice of Ken Page) re-captures Santa along with Jack's girlfriend Sally (voice of Catherine O'Hara), which leads to an inevitable confrontation. By story's end, Jack is riding in the sky in a coffin-like sled pulled by skeletal reindeer ready to deliver presents to the world's children.

A massive hurricane is formed and is to be aimed at Mexico, but things go wrong and it heads toward L.A. Young, finding out what his program is being used for, sets out to save L.A. Terrible.
