But on his way to Paris for their honeymoon, Marcello's fascist bosses give him a gun and orders to assassinate his old teacher, a political dissident. Doubts now begin to plague Marcello, and he is not sure that he is up to the task at hand.

The baroness MUST be destroyed.

At the same time, he is trying to hide from the Nazis, the Allies, the Italian government, and Italian freedom fighters–all of whom are on his trail.

Alas, things do not go as planned when his wife's fortune does not go to him but, rather, goes to her mentally unstable sister (also played by Barbara Steele). Watch out Doc, you may have trouble dealing with her.
