  After a 30 year absence, successful architect Antoine Lavair (Gerard Depardieu) arrives in Tangiers hoping to reunite with his long-lost love Cecile (Catherine Deneuve). But Cecile, who is now a local radio personality, has moved on and is married to a well-established doctor, Nathan (Gilbert Melki). Antoine realizes that Cecile's marriage is strained and professes his love for her. Now family members arrive for a visit, cause complications of their own, and emotional turmoil accelerates.
