Political corruption in a small town is the theme of this story in which newspaper editor Allridge (Walter Pidgeon) fights the forces of city hall. Allridge is crusading against corrupt Sheriff Casey Burke (Thomas Gomez) and gets many witnesses to testify. When Alridge is kidnapped, states attorney Chick Johnson (John Hodiak) investigates and learns that Allridge's son-in-law Randy Stanton (Cameron Mitchell) is involved in criminal activities, and that is being used to keep Allridge from testifying.
