Nigel Dennis (Dennis Price) edits a tabloid newspaper through which he blackmails British celebrities to prevent him from printing stories about them. With their backs to the wall, several of the celebrities (Terry-Thomas, Peter Sellers, Peggy Mount, and Shirley Eaton) plot to kill Nigel. The celebrities attempt poisoning, bombing, and even a drowning–all of which are met with amusing complications.
