Based on Anna Rice's "Vampire" stories, this movie begins with reporter Daniel Malloy (Christian Slater) interviewing the vampire, Louis (Brad Pitt), who relates how Lestat (Tom Cruise) enlisted him and Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) into the world of vampires. Louis and Lestat become the loves of each other's lives. Later, Louis and Claudia join up with the Theatre des Vampires whose leader, Armand (Antonio Banderas), participates in some weird sacrificial orgies with them.
