Based on Ken Follet's World War II spy novel, this spell-binding story of behind-the-scenes events leading to the Allied D-Day invasion of Normandy provides good suspense. "The Needle" (Donald Sutherland) is a German superspy who is trying to get information about the Allies' D-Day invasion to the fuhrer when his U-Boat is shipwrecked, and he washes ashore in England. He is taken in by Lucy (Kate Nelligan) whose husband David (Christopher Cazenove) is paralyzed. Romance blooms between "the Needle" and Lucy, which forces "the Needle" to choose between his love for Lucy and his love for his country. 3 User Reviews

Unfortunately, the Monster (David Prowse) didn't get much of a brain in this horror/comedy version of Mary Shelley's tale.
