George A. Romero is at it again in this thriller/ horror flick. Henry (Jason Flemyng) is a real "97-pound weakling" who allows others to walk over him. His boss (at the magazine called "Bruiser") is having an affair with Henry's wife, and his best friend and advisor is ripping him off. One day Henry awakens to find that he has no face–just a blank whiteness where the face belongs. Now he can get revenge on those who have wronged him. A sort of fun tongue-in-cheeker with a social message.

While scientists frantically search for a cure, the Army is sent in–complete with biologically-safe suits–to round up the city's inhabitants and isolate them in the local school. Non-infected citizens attempt to escape from both the Army personnel and local authorities. A strong anti-government, anti-military statement.

Reiniger) are sent in with their units to destroy zombies in a Pittsburgh housing project. They secure the building and then flee to a TV station where they escape by helicopter with station employees Francine (Gaylen Ross) and Stephen (David Emge). The gore is mostly confined to the first and last half-hours, but even with the gore, it is a well-made film. "Day of the Dead" follows as a sequel.
