An anthology of four horror tales told by mental patients fill this film with suspense as young psychiatrist Dr. Martin (Robert Powell), who has applied for the job as head of the asylum, is given the assignment of finding out which one of the patients had been in charge of the asylum. In one story, Walter (Richard Todd) murders his wife, and she seeks revenge. Another story involves tailor Bruno (Barry Morse) weaving a coat to bring back his son from the dead. The third story is about schizophrenic Barbara (Charlotte Rampling) inserting her "doppelganger" into Lucy (Britt Ekland). The final story involves toymaker Bryon (Herbert Lom) and his killer robots. A good film for horror buffs.

| | my college days | samayravi 04/08/2012 | in 1969 i saw the movie e when i was studying engineering . i enjoyed every bit of a movie . sidney poiter though he studied engineering ,in a despair wanted a job and joined as teacher in london docks sec school .he was dealing with all white students ,most of them are local rejects . He excelled in the role of a teacher with traditional high moral values and taught them with utmost convictions .
though many students prefered to satay awawy with the values , he convinces them and wins alltheir hearts eventually'
A classic melodrama ,where sidney poiter , judy geeson ,christopher roberts excelled in their characters

This film chronicles the marriage of famous poet T.S. Eliot (Willem Dafoe) and Vivienne (Miranda Richardson). It was not until after their marriage that Eliot found out that his wife had a "condition," a misdiagnosed hormonal disorder that caused mood swings. The diagnosis of "emotional problems" resulted in making the condition worse with her prescribed medications (including liquor). The troubled marriage, which included her being placed in a mental institution, had a great influence on T.S. Eliot's work and life. Miranda Richardson was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar and Rosemary Harris was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
