  After her mother dies, young Mary (Selina Gomez) is taken under the wing of washed-up pop star Dominique Blatt (Jane Lynch) who puts Mary to work in her home. Mary is ridiculed by Dominique's daughters Britt (Emily Perkins) and Bree (Katharine Isabelle), but she does spend happy times at school and with her friend Tami (Jessica Parker Kennedy). For years, Mary has had a crush on Joey (Andrew Seeley) who has become a teen star. Joey returns to town, and Mary dreams that Joey just might be the light at the end of the dark tunnel that is her life.

Casey performs the ceremony but is interrupted and makes a mistake. As a result, instead of resurrecting her mother, Casey brings to life a beautiful fashion doll "Eve" that she had been given for her birthday. Eve (Tyra Banks) is thrilled to be alive, and, although Casey initially dislikes her, Eve brings out the best in Casey and restores her relationships with those around her.
