  Teenager Van (Aidan Tierney) lives a dysfunctional homelife: his mother has left, he has a needy stepmother (Gabrielle Rose), his father (David Hemblen) is obsessed with phone sex and taping videos, and his grandmother lives in a run-down retirement home. In an attempt to feel closer to his absent mother, Van visits his grandmother regularly and seeks help from Aline (Arsinee Khanjian) to get grandmother out of the home and back into the family.

  Based on the "Dungeon Siege" video game, this story involves turnip farmer Farmer (Jason Statham) whose son Zeph (Colin Ford) is killed and his wife Solana (Claire Forlani) kidnapped by the villainous Krugs–an army of beasts that shattered Farmer's nearby village. Farmer, Norick (Ron Perlman), and Bastian (Will Sanderson) venture out into unknown lands to rescue Solana and, in the process, save their king (Burt Reynolds) whose life is threatened by the wizard Gallian (Ray Liotta) who plots to rule the world.

Now, he is married to Susan Maine (Shelley Hack) whose daughter, Stephanie (Jill Schoelen), does not trust him, and the stepfather plots the next murders.

Attorney Mitchell Stephens (Ian Holm) has his work cut out for him in uncovering events leading to the disaster. Egoyan was nominated for a Best Director Oscar.
