In order to survive, they need oxygen, and NASA supervisor Charles Keith (Gregory Peck) tries unsuccessfully to find the solution. But, just when it looks like there is no chance for them, a Russian spaceship arrives on the scene to rescue them. This film won the Academy Award for Best Special Effects.
