  Devoted Georgie (Grace Kelly) must deal with her alcoholic husband, Frank (Bing Crosby), whose acting career is fading. Georgie plays the foil to hide her husband's problem with alcohol. Grace Kelly won an Oscar for her role; the film also won an Academy Award for Best Writing and had nominations for Best Picture, Actor (Crosby), Director, Cinematography, and Art Direction/Set Decoration.

  Brent Halston's (Hoot Gibson) father was a cattle owner who sheep herders managed to frame, and he was sent to an insane asylum. Sheep herder Gilbert Ware (Richard Cramer) is behind the framing because he wants the land. Now, Ware's partner, John Wilton (Roger Williams), frames Brent on a murder charge, and Brent is sent to jail. But, Brent manages to escape, takes Ware hostage, and exposes Ware and Wilton as the perpetrators.

After town bad-guy Rawhide (Fred Kohler) robs the bank and takes Ken's girlfriend, Mary (Cecilia Parker), hostage with help from Clem, Ken is blamed. After a change of heart, Clem tells Ken of Rawhide's hideout. Going undercover, Ken saves the day as Mary plays and organ loudly to distract gang members.
