  Devoted Georgie (Grace Kelly) must deal with her alcoholic husband, Frank (Bing Crosby), whose acting career is fading. Georgie plays the foil to hide her husband's problem with alcohol. Grace Kelly won an Oscar for her role; the film also won an Academy Award for Best Writing and had nominations for Best Picture, Actor (Crosby), Director, Cinematography, and Art Direction/Set Decoration.

  Three years ago, Tate Kimbrough (John Carroll) ran off with rancher Bart Allison's (Randolph Scott) wife. She subsequently committed suicide, and, now, Bart tracks down Tate in order to exact revenge. After finding Tate, Bart learns that the townsfolk will protect him because, it turns out, Bart's wife had left willingly. As sundown approaches, the final showdown nears, and the townsfolk begin to change sides after much soul searching.

  Bat Masterson (Joel McCrea) has reluctantly taken the job of sheriff of Dodge City where he is trying to bring about law and order. Now, real problems arise when his old outlaw gang comes to town, and Masterson must deal not only with them but with Dodge City's corrupt politicians as well. And the story culminates with that gunfight at Dodge City.

The campaign backers really want Allan to be the stooge candidate for their corrupt political machine–and, wonder of wonders, Allan wins the election. Songs include "One More Kiss," and "Bet Your Bottom Dollar."
