  This made-for-TV version of Tennessee Williams' 1958 novella stars Helen Mirren as the aging Karen Stone whose life changes when her wealthy husband, Tom (Brian Dennehy), dies during their trip to Italy. Karen then sets off on a series of sexual flings with gigolos arranged for by the Contessa (Anne Bancroft) until she is paired off with young Paolo di Lio (Olivier Martinez), and a doomed romance follows.
