  Young Severine (Catherine Deneuve) is a Parisian housewife who is bored with her husband Pierre (Jean Sorel). But, is Severine's double life a reality, or is it only a sexual daydream?

Violette puts her plans into action, and Baptiste dies, but Germaine survives and sends Violette to prison. Based on a true story that took place in Paris during the 1930s.
