  Leaving Scotland in the company of documentary filmmaker Martin Samuels (Chris Langham), Scottish hairstylist Crawford Mackenzie (Craig Ferguson) is the subject of an upcoming British TV program. He has every intention of winning the "Platinum Scissors" award at the World Hairdressing Competition in L.A. But it isn't long after Crawford checks in at the Century Plaza that he learns he was just invited to attend–not to compete. Determined to not only enter the competition but to win as well, Crawford gets help from publicist Cindy Harper (Frances Fisher), and he is on his way.
