Country music performer Ruby Diamond (Dolly Parton) is killed in a car crash, but when she reaches the Pearly Gates, Saint Peter (Roddy McDowall) tells her that she may not enter Heaven until she performs a good deed. So, back to Earth she comes and tries to reunite workaholic widower Ben Bartilson (Brian Kerwin) and his children, Sarah and Matthew (Allison Mack and Eli Marienthal) in time for Christmas.
