Set in Baltimore, miscommunication between the sexes is the theme of this story involving twenty- and thirty-somethings attempting relationships from dating to marriage. Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) wants marriage but has been rejected by Connor (Kevin Connolly), and now she gets advice from bar manager Alex (Justin Long). Meanwhile, Connor has his eye on both Mary (Drew Barrymore) and Anna (Scarlett Johansson). But, Anna is interested in Janine's (Jennifer Connelly) husband Ben (Bradley Cooper). Janine tries to help Beth (Jennifer Aniston) work out her problems with Ben (Bradley Cooper) who, despite their long relationship, refuses to commit to marriage. And on it goes with a myriad of relationships that are either back together or falling apart.
