Based on a Daphne du Maurier romantic adventure set in 17th century Cornwall, Tara Fitzgerald takes on the role of Lady Dona St. Columb who returns to her family's estate and finds it filled with pirates. She meets French pirate Jean Aubrey (Anthony Delon), falls in love with him, deceives husband Sir Harry (James Fleet), and heads off on a high-seas adventure with Jean Aubrey. It is only later that Lady Dona questions the wisdom of leaving husband and family in her quest for love and adventure.

Winston Churchill was out of power and was a lone voice trying to warn the population and leadership of the threat posed by Hitler's re-arming of Germany. He returned to power after his warnings were proven to be valid.
