Eighteen-year-old philosophy student Laura (Fanny Valette) lives in her sister Mathilde's (Elsa Zylberstein) apartment with Mathilde's husband, Ariel (Bruno Todeschini), their four children, and her mother (Sonia Tahar). The home is located in the suburban Paris neighborhood known as "Little Jerusalem" because of its large Jewish population. But, Laura is not into her family's religious fervor, which has damaged Mathilde's marital relationship with Ariel, and she really is not into the dating scene–until she meets Djamel (Hedi Tillette de Clermont-Tonnerre).
