While Dave is attending the luncheon, the President suffers a stroke when he is having sex with his mistress. In order to keep the indiscretion a secret, Dave agrees to continue his impersonation of the President. It doesn't take long for Dave to learn how to run the government and promote changes he feels will improve the country. Embarrassed to be seen with him, and bitter about their past estrangement, she makes up stories about him to a handsome 16-year-old boy, Ben (Dalton James). Included in the stories are that Andre is her lover, a spy, and other assorted tales. When fellow vacationers give him a cold shoulder, he is told by Nicole what she has done. He even goes along with the ruse. This is a remake of the French film "Mon Pere, Ce Heros," ("My Father the Hero") also starring Depardieu but not nearly as good as the original.
