Heading to the Bahamas, Bond runs into Alex Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian) and his girlfriend, Solange (Caterina Murino). Dimitrios deals with Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) who is a banker for terrorist organizations. Now, Bond goes into action and arranges to play a high-stakes poker game against Le Chiffre believing that the $10 million buy-in at Montenegro's Casino Royale will bankrupt Le Chiffre if he loses and, in the process, destroy his terrorist organizations.

Asriel goes back on another expedition, and the evil Mrs. Coulter (Nicole Kidman) takes Lyra under her wing. But, when Lyra's best friend Roger (Ben Walker) is kidnapped, Lyra acquires a golden compass that, when in the right hands, will reveal truth. Now, Lyra sets off into the frozen north to rescue Roger and other children who have been kidnapped by child-stealing "Gobblers." And adventures ensue. The film received an Academy Award for Best Visueal Effects and received one additional nomination.
