With post-war Fascist repression in full swing and her new father serving as one of Franco's officers, Ofelia retreats into her own private world and meets the goat-god Pan (Doug Jones) who tells her that she is not human but is, instead, Princess Moanna who is the daughter of the King of the Underworld. In Ofilia's fable, in order to regain her status of princess, she must complete three tasks, which include killing a huge toad that lurks under a fig tree. fears. First begin with nothing. The vision will appear to you in all it's terror. The inside will become the outside. Who is your daddy?? Do not give in to temptation.
The sacrifice of the inocent may open things up for your rembrance of the deap old ways, including what we would call magic. The first step may be the realization of the stunning real-surreal BEAUTY all too close to you. Same as it ever was! |
