In Argentina during 1945, Elvira's (Leonor Watling) husband, Julio (Ernesto Alterio), is imprisoned for political reasons, and her father has been killed by Franco's army. Elvira hates fascism but is drawn into an affair with Pablo, which lasts until Julio is released from prison and returns to Elvira. A rough road lies ahead for all concerned.
