The Communist scare was on in the early 1950s, and this film, though weak in most respects, captures the flavor of the times. Mr. Ohman (Dan O'Herlihy) enters a bar in New York where the customers discuss current events. A TV news bulletin on the bar's TV states that the U.S. is being invaded. All but Mr. Ohman react with panic and head out to deal with their fate. Mr. Ohman's calm in the storm is revealed at film's end as an invasion, including the use of a nuclear bomb, takes place.
