Real estate agent Julia (Carmen Maura) moves into a luxury apartment that she is trying to sell. The apartment is in an old, rundown building inhabited by oddballs who keep a watchful eye on her. But now she finds that she is being held captive by the other inhabitants of the building who all know of the money and have agreed to share it among themselves. Amador's (Celso Bugallo) wife left him awhile ago, and he is depressed but assures the others that she will be returning. Lino (Jose Angel Egido), unlike the others, keeps searching for employment. But, for all of them, each day is an idle day with no job on the horizon.
