But the town's mayor has other plans–until Dr. Christian, despite having out-of-date tools, performs a delicate operation on the mayor's daughter.

The Earl takes on the pseudonym of "Robin Hood" and returns to save the day.

Not realizing that Myra is a prostitute, Roy falls in love with her, and they make plans to be married–despite Myra's concerns about not admitting to Roy that she is a prostitute. Roy does find out about her past but still loves Myra. It is time for Roy to return to the battlefield, and they share a tearful farewell at Waterloo Bridge. Later, during another air raid, Myra is again near Waterloo Bridge but doesn't take cover and is killed.
